 Since its founding in Taiwan in 1985, ULAC has promoted consumer safety and security through the manufacture of secure and fashionable bicycle locks and lights. HISTORY
KC Shen started ULAC in 1985 in Taipei, Taiwan, focusing on the development of innovative, secure and fashionable portable security products.
When the manufacturing world shifted from the West to Mainland China in the early 1990s, Shen decided to pursue his interest in designing and manufacturing mobile security products there, leaving Taiwan and acquiring ULAC’s manufacturing plant and machinery in Guangdong.
In 1994, changes in the security products market led Shen to shift concentration away from ULAC’s former core products, such as previously high-demand merchandise like the Card Lock and the Laptop Cable Lock. Maintaining his dedication to portable security and theft deterrence, Shen decided to devote his knowledge, skillset and craftsmanship to developing bicycle locks and safety lights.
BRAND
With an established OEM and ODM foundation spanning more than 20 years, ULAC works with leading US, German and Japanese brands and retailers to design and manufacture various types of bicycle locks and lights. In 2008, ULAC launched its own brand in Mainland China and is currently expanding in Greater China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Thailand.
